YES! Mini Grants

The goal for YES! is to inspire Delaware youth to get involved and tackle environmental challenges, whether on their school campuses, in their community, or even farther afield.  And, we want to support these efforts!  Thanks to support from the Delaware Community Foundation, this year mini grants are being offered up to $500 to seed or jumpstart a project.  How did YES! inspire your team to tackle a challenge?  Tell us what you've got and apply to fund your project!

Here are some ideas to get your imagination going:

• Campus reuse systems (dishware programs, water refill stations)
• Fix-It Clinics or repair cafés to keep items in use
• Cleanup campaigns tied to data collection and storytelling
• Education workshops or peer-to-peer campaigns
• Policy advocacy projects (plastic pollution, wind power, refill policies)
• Creative arts/communication projects that reframe the issue
• A school waste audit and campaign to that reduces cafeteria plastic waste
• Composting program that teaches about food waste reduction & circularity
• Scholarships for students working on plastics-related or circular-economy projects
• A tree planting or urban orchard project or pollinator garden installation

But these are just a few ideas, the options are endless!

REQUEST GUIDELINES:

• Proposed projects must be located in Delaware or led by Delaware high school students.  Requests from individuals will not be awarded, we are looking for a team approach.  
• Requires an adult advisor and contact
• Requests must not exceed $500, but matching funds are encouraged
• Application deadline: Friday, March 20, 2026
• Decisions will be announced no later than April 24th.
• Previously initiated projects not eligible.
• If you receive a grant, you agree to use the funds as specified in your request. 
• You agree to allow YES! and Plastic Free Delaware to use the information provided in this request in its publications, social media, and news releases, and will mention YES!'s and Plastic Free Delaware's support in any publications, news releases, or other publicity related to the project.
